My senior capstone project is being sponsored by Raytheon. It’s a competition between a couple west coast schools, where every team has to build two autonomous vehicles. One air vehicle, and one ground vehicle. The air vehicles are responsible for seeking out the other teams ground vehicles (which have aruco markers on top of them) and dropping a water payload on them. My team has assigned me to work mainly on the ground vehicle, but I find myself leaning towards the drone work, as the computer vision and embedded programming on that is much more exciting to me. I’ve gotten a working CV model that can detect Aruco markers, and I’m hoping to work on the autonomous flight. I’ll continue with updates as we get closer to the competition.
